Preferences stored on your device

Unit and glass-size preferences may be stored in your browser so the site remembers them next time. This information is not an account and is not sent to Koktelia by the current application.

Party-plan links

The party planner can encode guest count and cocktail selections into the page URL so you can bookmark or share a plan. Anyone who receives that URL can read those selections. Do not place personal or sensitive information in shared links.

Messages you send us

The contact form asks for a name, a reply address and your message. Those are stored in a database Koktelia controls, along with the language edition you wrote from, the Koktelia page you came from if there was one, and an approximate country derived from your network. They exist so your message can be answered and are used for nothing else: no newsletter, no advertising, no disclosure to anyone beyond the hosting provider that operates the database on our behalf. Messages are deleted once they have been dealt with, and in any case within a year. Write to us through the same form to have yours removed sooner, corrected, or sent back to you.

Analytics

Koktelia uses two analytics systems, and one of them is a third party. The first is our own: cookieless and aggregate, stored in a database Koktelia controls. Recorded per event are the page path, approximate country, device type, referring site, and anonymous interaction counts such as which recipes are started or which terms are searched. Network addresses are not stored; a salted fingerprint that changes every day is used to estimate daily visitor counts, so visits cannot be linked across days. The second is Google Analytics 4, a Google service, which sets first-party cookies beginning with _ga to recognize a returning browser. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it stores nothing at all unless you accept: analytics storage is denied by default and the banner asks first. Elsewhere it runs unless you decline. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the privacy and cookie settings link in the footer, and Google offers a browser-wide opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Advertising and affiliate measurement

No advertising is shown on Koktelia today, and no advertising cookies or identifiers are set by this site. Koktelia is preparing to carry ads supplied by Google AdSense; the disclosures below take effect on the day the first ad appears, and this page will be updated then. Affiliate retailers can record that a visit came from Koktelia when you follow a clearly marked equipment link.

Links to retailers, licenses or other websites leave Koktelia. Their privacy practices and content are controlled by those services.
